Lazy Sunday (7/365)

(All the pictures I took today are rubbish because I'm so out of it, so they are reeeeeally edited.)

Lazy day again today, though my headaches and dizzy spells are getting less frequent. I went volunteering today, which I was worried I wouldn't be able to do. While there I got some work done:

Then I tried to catch up on my sudoku calendar and my book:

Plus two more pictures from around my desk:

Getting so much better all the time! (6/365)

A full day spent in bed doing nothing but icing every inch of the left side of my body. Pretty much every muscle and most of my skull hurts. As a result, these pictures are all of stuff I could shoot from here. :P

Two of my friends came over to cheer me up. Jamie couldn't stop laughing, so I took a picture. They brought me sushi. It was pretty awesome.

Ok, so you might have noticed by now i'm a bit eccentric. This is a manequin in my room that I painted pink for a grade 11 project. (If you are curious, it is weraing a shirt made of paper printed faces of famous women, with shoulder straps being those women's names. The theme for the project was something about women, I'm sure). For the last five years it has sat and slowing collected articles of clothing that I had no place for. In this picture you can see her Toronto maple leafs Santa hat, New Year's top hat and St. Patrick's Day top hot, Mini Mouse ears (on her arm, from my Halloween costume) and 3D (from when I went to see "Up!").

The "Classic Pooh" bear my brother bought me this Christmas (haha).

Unclaimed keys hanging in my brother's hallway. They have a steady traffic of friends and girlfriends in their house (plus me) including several who have keys, so it can be hard to keep track.

I made myself hot chocolate and it went swirly. So, of course, I took a picture.

Concussion FTL (5/365)

So today I flipped over my bike handle bars (first time I have even had trouble on my bike since getting to university, so I guess I'm due). My chain came off while I was changing gears. I wasn't wearing a helmet (LESSON LEARNED0 so I was lucky to get away from it with a concussion. Really the only reason I didn't crack my skull open was I got my arm up in front of it in time and used the other one to counterbalance the bike so that it skidded kind of sideways, meaning my head hit the pavement on an angle instead of dead (ok, really bad pun) on and I had already stopped half the speed with my arm (which, as you can imagine, is not thanking me for that but incredibly isn't broken either).

So I'm feeling pretty fortunate right now, but as a result my day involved eight hours of the emergency department @ my local hospital, including a CT scan, and then a lot of lying around on my couch watching TV. Fortunately I had a very cuddly and comforting couch buddy who made me feel much better:

Busy Day! (4/365)

Most of my time today was taken up with the newspaper I found; getting proper archival paper and then photographing all the articles before I packed it up safely. Below are a few shots from my walk downtown to get the paper:

LOTS of pictures (3/365)

I started off today just planning to take a few night shots of the traffic near the park near my house.

Then I went to a friend's house, and took a few pictures there:

Then, unexpectedly, we found a newspaper from 1938 in their floor insulation.. Some pictures of the paper below (full album on facebook).

(all pictures of the paper in the public gallery at http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2046521&id=1657350238&l=f4d5949b87)

The Cat came back.... (2/365)

....the very next day. Thought she was a goner, but the Cat came back (just couldn't stay away).

Today I tried to be inspired by taking my camera to class. It kind of worked. Ran into this sad bike on my way home, and it caught my eye because my own has been giving me trouble (and I liked the colours).

Then I was messing around with zoom blurring at my brother's house....

Then I took the puppy for a walk in the park. :)

In January when there's snow, we get our cameras and away we go! (1/365)

I wanted to try out my new tripods in the lighting in my apartment, which is cataract-inducingly low. So here is my dollar store magnetic dartboard and a sea-monster stocking stuffer lurking in my housemate's coat.
